Terms of Service

Effective date: 12 September 2026

These terms apply when you use Fenex at https://fenex.pages.dev. By using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use Fenex.

1. What Fenex is

Fenex is a markdown notes app. It writes your notes as .md files into your own Google Drive. It also has an optional publishing feature, which makes a page readable by anyone with the link and lists it in a public feed called Explore.

Fenex is operated by an individual developer in the Republic of Korea. Contact: withtommykim.lab@gmail.com

2. Your notes are yours

We claim no ownership of anything you write. We do not license, sell, analyse, or train on your content.

Because your notes live in your Google Drive, you keep them whether or not you keep using Fenex. If this service shuts down tomorrow, your files stay exactly where they are, in a format any text editor can open. That is the point of the design.

3. Your account

Fenex has no accounts of its own. You sign in with Google, and you are responsible for the security of that Google account. Revoking Fenex's access at Google Account permissions ends the connection at any time.

You must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live, and at least 14 years old.

4. Publishing

Publishing is optional and off by default. Nothing you write is public unless you publish it.

When you publish a page, you confirm that:

You remain responsible for what you publish. Fenex does not review pages before they appear.

What publishing actually does

5. AI actions

Fenex has optional AI actions. They run only when you press them. The text you send is processed by Cloudflare Workers AI and returned to you; we do not store it. See the Privacy Policy for detail.

Voice notes are different: the speech is recognised on your own device and no audio is sent to us or to anyone else. Still, record only what you have the right to record - laws on recording other people differ by place, and consent is your responsibility, not ours.

AI output can be wrong. Check anything that matters before relying on it. You are responsible for what you keep in your notes and for anything you publish, including text an AI action produced.

5. What you may not publish

You may not use Fenex's publishing feature for:

To reduce the incentive for spam, links in published pages carry nofollow and external images are not loaded automatically.

6. Reporting and removal

If a published page breaks section 5, or infringes your rights, write to withtommykim.lab@gmail.com. Please include the page's link and what is wrong with it.

We will review reports and may delete a published page at our discretion, with or without notice, when we believe it breaks these terms or the law. Deleting a published page removes only the public copy - the author's own note stays in their Google Drive, untouched and unpublished.

If your page is removed and you believe that was a mistake, reply to the same address and we will look at it again.

7. Availability

Fenex is provided free of charge and as is. There is no uptime guarantee. The service may be changed, interrupted, or discontinued at any time.

If Fenex is ever discontinued, your notes are unaffected: they are files in your Drive, and they remain readable without this service. We will give notice in the app where reasonably possible.

8. Third-party services

Fenex depends on Google Drive and on Cloudflare for hosting. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability, their changes, or actions they take on your account.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Fenex and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, for lost profits, or for loss of data.

Please keep your own backups. Your notes are in your Google Drive, which has its own trash and version history - use them. We do not hold a copy we could restore for you.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent or gross negligence.

10. Termination

You may stop using Fenex at any time by revoking its access to your Google Drive. Your files remain yours.

We may suspend access for anyone who repeatedly breaks section 5, or who attacks or abuses the service.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes will be heard by the court with jurisdiction under Korean civil procedure law. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of protections that apply where you live.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date above will change, and material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Fenex after that means you accept the updated terms.
